Hi there,

Probably not as many prospects as a fully qualified architect! There are so many routes to architectural photography it is difficult to say. Commercial advertising, book publishing, stock photography, 3d modelling and composite imagery. I have taken the specialist route and work mainly with historic architecture and regeneration. One of my specialities is to work with buildings which are to be demolished. I create a swatch of information from the existing site to help inform the new development. A new development has a better chance of survival when informed with as many nutrients as possible from past developments.

As an architectural student you could start by building up an interesting collection of architectural imagery and develop it from there. Use the best equipment that you can afford.

Some of my work has been produced with commercial advertising in mind Here's an example http://tinyurl.com/bkz8o

If your'e interested I have just started an architecture and photography blog at the following address

Regards
