    |
|
What program would be best for furniture design in particular. I looked at autocad, vectorworks and I am not sure which one would be best or if there are any other programs out there i should look into before I decide. What program is used most widely in this particular field and in industrial design in general?
Thanks |

Try Rhinoceros and the Uniform Deformation Tools i think you will like this
very powerful and very easy
also t-splines the most powerful modeling tool imho _________________ The most necessary/useful piece of learning is that which unlearns what is untrue: 'evil'

I have used most ALL cad packages on the market,
first.. NO CAD PACKAGE IS THE BEST .. !!
second.. each cad package has its specialization
third.. define what you will need cad for.. design, or cnc, presentations with clients.. a
fourth.. money, what do you want to spend.
once you have know these then you can make a good decision.
Example: Rhino has a cnc package, is to use but lacks rendering so something like 3DS would take over.
Example: solidworks.. but it is very expensive.. |

| yeah, it may be expensive, but you can model accurate, generate drawings, and produce decent renders. |

Anybody has heard anything about this package called 'Pytha'?
it is a package that is built for furniture manufacturing. It has specialised modules for panel processing, CNC interface, rendering and visualization, generating drawings etc.. and it is pretty neat.. it already knows international standards like the pitch for a multiple borer is 32mm etc.. it is expensive though. But i have not come across something better customised for furniture design and manufacturing. maybe someone else knows.. |
