interesting project...
i actually had the great opportunity of visiting Polshek Partnership last week as part of my professional practice course...
we spoke with tim hartung who is a partner there and also a PSU graduate...he only gave us the general overview of the firm and their work..
we were then given a tour of the firm by a more recent PSU grad who i had the pleasure of going to school with, who also has been working on the clinton library for the past 2 years...
he had some very interesting things to say about the design work and the various jokes around the firm that developed over the various design decisions that went into the creation of the project...
such things as the 'M' trusses and the color white were all things he mentioned...and the fact that clinton will maintain something of a residence ontop of the library so he could wisk away any wandering library staff that may catch his eye...haha
but it was really great to get such an indepth and intimate look at the design process from someone i know who has worked on the project for quite a bit of time...

| it certainly was a good time, they make amazing models at polshek...the new new york times building model was also sitting out around the office... polshek would be a place i would consider working if not for the cost prohibitive fact that it is in NYC... maybe later on after i get a little established... since they seem to be slowly creating a bit of a 'psu mafia' there...

| Does Peter Bohlin's office have a "PSU Mafia"? I love the work that firm does.

I read where the Polshek design team was 90% women architects (and brilliant ones too!) for the Clinton double wide in the sky project...I wonder if it was written in the Owner Architect agreement to do so...make that the reciepient / architect agreement...that being the Owner is the US Imperial Federal Government.
The London Economist, in typical snide form, compared the design to a glorified house trailer...... humorous architectural review I must say.
