I am not an architecht and am asking for assistance.

Our community has a sign code that exempts "architectural features" from the area calculation of a sign. However, the definition as described in the code is very vague. A question to be answered is in the eyes of the Architect community, is, "are pole wraps an architectural feature?"

Thank you in advance for your help.
Jack

What's a pole wrap?

Do you intend to have lettering on the wrap? If so, that's not the intention of the exemption.

When a sign ordinance exempts architectural features it's simply allowing you to make your sign attractive without penalizing you.

For example, a cornice is clearly an architectural feature, but you can't have a 12" cornice withg a flat spot for text and expect it to be exempt.

If that's where you were heading, nice try, but no go.

Something that wraps a pole. Leather grip on a golf club, box beam, or a couple of axles on a Rose Bowl float. Sugar coating like the phony end grain chunks on Gehry's serpentine thingy that only fools the fools.

Sounds like freedom. handle with care.
