Friends of the Forest are inviting Oregonians to join them and the National Forest Foundation, the Deschutes County 4-Wheelers, REI’s Bend Store, SOLV and the US Forest Service for a volunteer day to fix a popular dispersed campsite area at Torso Lake, just east of Santiam Pass in the Deschutes National Forest. All ages are welcome.
Volunteers can sign up on-line at www.solv.org (look for the Torso Lake/Santiam Pass: Friends of the Forest Day, September 23 link on the homepage), or call Monica Kearsley at SOLV at 503-844-9571.
