This new strike plate called Sure-Strike (www.sure-strike.com) actually self-adjusts to misaligned deadbolts so you don't have to keep readjusting the strike plate when things shift around or get out of alignment from time to time. It touts a new pin-system design where the strike hole is actually larger but is filled with spring-loaded pins so when an off center deadbolt is thrown it only pushes in the pins needed and the others surround the bolt making for a perfect and tight fit every time. Pretty ingenious.
The pins also allow for a door to close all the way against the weather strip making it more energy efficient.
Plus, the way it's designed in helps resist kick-in burglaries as well.
Looks like the old strike plate is starting to catch up with current technology. Who would've thought.
Nice to see a new product on the market that no one has thought of before. |
