I am a contractor that remodels residential homes. I sell and install kitchen cabinets. I build decks, porches, roofing, counter tops, hardwood floors, tile, vinyl floor covering, windows, doors, and etc. I remove existing walls and install new ones inside of the house. I am looking for a Mac base software that I can draw using a CAD base program and when I draw I get a material list of materials needed to complete this project. I have been talking to a company that created SoftPlan and ChiefArchitect that does this. I only problem is that it is Windows base software. I have both Mac and a Windows base laptops. I am not a Windows personal and my whole business is done on the Mac. I purchased the Windows computer and it just sits on my desk.

I hope that there is a CAD software that will let me do this and/or have add ons that I can purchase and do the complete costing and material list.

It is real important to have a material list of want I have created.

Thank you for your help.

I have been lokking for some time. Most costing software is window based and linked to MS Excel and MS Word.

I next try is going to the Apple website again and put in a e-mail for a request of this type of product and maybe have some luck.

I am trying VectorWorks 11 cadd software and I was told I can do all the things I said in the above e-mail.

The problem I have is that I will have to take the time to set-up all the symbols and add costing and other information about each item that I will use. I don't have the time.

It seams that the cadd software is a great product and I need to take some training coures.

I still need help...

Even if I have to use different software and templates for excel I would love to do al this work on the Apple.

Thank you..
