I wrote to Mike a month ago about the status window but there doesn't appear to be any movement on getting it back. Unfortunately this means I don't use PowerCADD 8 and associated WildTools 9. There are many, many good things in the new versions, but I'm not willing to have the same options scattered throughout the program. I NEED the viewing scale available as I often check drawings at 137% (this displays a 1:1 drawing at actual size on my monitor) and multiples for other drawings. This provides a "reality check" for my work. I hate giving up screen real estate for the new toolbar at the top of the drawing, but this is the only way to change the nudge amount - something I do many times every hour. And although I know it's not necessarily the proper way, I do occasionally have objects at different scales on the same layer and changed this from the status window. I don't draw in standard ways, but PowerCADD's flexibility was always one of its best points, and now the new versions sit in boxes on a shelf.

Sorry for the rant.
Ralph

Ralph,

I agree exactly with each and every one of your points. I am still using PC7/WT8 for nearly everything. DWG translation is the exception. I am surprised at the lack of response or official comment from ES. I thought this would get worked out, but now I'm not so sure.

And that was not a rant. I know a rant when I see one.

Not using v.8 (yet) but surprised the sentiment is so prevalent for the status window. I use it constantly too. In order of use but all very helpful:

I need to quickly know
what layer something is on.
Scale checking and changing when I am doing a lot of details.
nudge (wish nudge were adjusted to scale and never gave pixel--I have no use for nudges like .621289")
Go to page
Number of objects

I never refer to the zoom amount or use the mountains.

What did we do before the status window? Are we so spoiled that it's a deal breaker?
Just to add my vote to the mix. Bring it back, please.

chiming in here to agree. I suggest you email engineered software with your request. It's very confusing to lose such a valuable tool.

I just sent another email to Mike about this issue and included my original email from June 30. Still crossing my fingers.

Cheers,
Ralph
