| After all, ITC is only an organization, and its members need to compete with autocad and the others to survive. AutoCAD is such a big company,and they have already set their standard in the CAD industry. It is not easy for ITC. |

from what i see i think the Open Design Alliance opened up, locked down and now maintains the best openDWG format as well as the openDGN stuff they do.
autodesk on the other hand sues them, gets counter sued and also sues Solidworks in cases i think they will loose.
there is a better site documenting (court papers etc) all of it but i can't find it off hand
