I am currently in my final, 3rd year studying Architecture BA (hons).
Gradating later next year, I hope to carry out the stage 1 year out to further my education.
I was just wondering when would be the ideal time to start applying for part 1 positions?
I had the idea maybe after Christmas/early next year? As I would have a more substantial portfolio of recent 3rd year work.
But, i have a niggling feeling that this maybe leaving it a bit late.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you. |

We were advised that Easter was a good time to be applying for placements. But I'm sure plenty of people apply much earlier, or at least they do the groundwork of deciding who to apply to and by what method.
With the current economic climate it may well be the case that practices are not willing to commit themselves too far ahead. And anyway, unless you're already known to the practice, or you are a phenomenal student, I expect they will gather together all the applications and make a decision much later on in the year. |
