| I thought of a cool idea for world trade center memorial. A collection of pics of the individuals and their lives that when viewed from above doesn't resemble a bunch of little pictures but spells a message "e pluribus unum" that sits on the spot where the buildings fell. simple but grande. |

I definitely would go for the pictures of the individuals. As for the layout... that is too cutesy for me. For that sacred, sacred site, I had hoped for a huge green space, with memorial-outlines on the footprints.
But in fairness of the idea... could we at least have the names of the 100,000 civilian dead in Afghanistan and Iraq? As you well know, those deaths were allegedly spawned by the WTC tragedy, according to Bush and crew who have repeatedly tried to tie OBL to the wars. Do we ignore their loss?
Who speaks for their holocaust? Who speaks for those 10s of thousands of innocent human beings? Who is to explain their loss? God forbid, will there be 10s of thousands more?
Pictures of the victims are a very good idea. It might even change us for the better. _________________ Ed Ziomek |

| Ed, I agree with your point about noting the loss of life of the related wars - but I think the original idea will assist to serve this message as the pictures of faces of the those that lost their life’s will reveal a myriad of ethnic backgrounds. |

Kirsten...I am in agreement of the pictures, just not a "e pluribus..." layout... Why not a simple alphabetic, or nationality, or religious, or circular layout?
#1...I only have two working brain cells left and I am sincerely shattered by the HORRIFIC international consequences of the WTC event and our government's devastatingly wrong responses, with un-measurable, ignored, 100s of thousands of collateral losses...
#2 The layout has already been decided in favor of the taxable, ugly, megastructures already taking shape
#3...a total green space will never happen....
after all that, I am through with political jingoism...but that is only my humble opinion.
I want to spend the rest of my life understanding others...helping others...return America to its grass-roots of integrity, fairness, and endless opportunities of hope, for everyone who wants it.
