Have you considered joining the League of Women Voters?You are invited to get a sample of what League members are all about at
their annual Membership Luncheon on Thursday, September 21 at the
Doubletree Hotel, 3280 Gateway in Springfield beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The cost of the lunch is $10.50.Featured speakers, Caroline Forell, professor at the University of Oregon
Law School and Donna Matthews, an Eugene attorney, will discuss their new
book, "A Law of Her Own". "Applying the reasonable woman standard when a
woman sexually harasses a man treats his injury more seriously and
respectully than under a reasonable person/man standard," the authors
state.The Encore Theater group will also perform.
For lunch reservations or more information, call the LWV office at
343-7917 between the hours of 11 and 2.The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that
encourages informed and active participation in government. Everyone is
welcome to participate.
