Dear Peggy,

Good to hear from you! My thoughts are inserted below...

We plan to use the same location for both the Team Leader Training on Saturday, 19 August, and for the Survey Day command center on 26 August. The actual location should be known sometime tomorrow (Thursday, 10 August).

That is planned to be our phase two. This inital phase is driven on this super-short timeline by the very narrow window of opportunity to get basic data into the City while they are still collecting info themselves.

Later on there will surely be various opportunities to submit more data, and to develop and use our own maps for more specific testimony and planning. And the data we collect rapidly in this first phase will give us a starting point for the deeper and more complete phase two project.

In other words, because of this very brief, but very important opportunity, we are totally focused for this one month on coordinating a ton of quick basic resource documenting at the grassroots level. Then once this is burst is done, we'll be defining and launching the longer range aspects.

] Does the current effort include the area where I live, unincorporated
] Lane County within the Springfield Urban Growth Boundary?

I think everything within the UGB is included in the Natural Resource Study - and that defines our area too, for phase one - so the answer should be yes. The official map is linked from our main web page, at:

http://www.NatureProject.org

But since that requires Acrobat, we could also just mail you a copy we've printed. If you'd like one mailed, just send me your address.

] Could you please send me the reporting form pasted into an email

] can't even read attachments.?

Good question. Acrobat Reader is free on the Web, but it's a bit of a project to download and install it, even if one's computer is capable enough.

Over the next couple of days we'll be creating more low-tech versions of the form, on a simple standard web page people can print without any extras, and in plain text for basic emailing.

] Thanks for starting this important and interesting project!

Thanks to you, too. We're starting to see a lot of interest coming together for this. And lot of people talking it up, and sending in the forms, is just what will make it happen!

Best wishes,

Kevin
