It really is too bad in many ways that we don't have a proportional representation system like the UK. But since we don't, responsible building of a third party shouldn't force progressives (I know several who are very torn over the Gore/Nader choice) into picking the lesser of two evils : a) voting for a more centrist Democrat than they'd like, or b) voting for a sterling idealist without program proposals or a chance of winning.
