Kevin:I am a graduate student at the University of Oregon and this summer have
gotten together with some of the other students here to form a summer
theatre camp for youth. Our primary goal is to educate students in some of
the performance elements of drama, and to help make some connections between
the university and the community at large. A friend of mine who lives in
the south hills suggested that I contact you about putting this information
out to your parents. Here are the details:
It will run for five days, from August 19th to the 23rd from 8 AM to 5PM.
It will be offered at the University of Oregon in Villard Hall. The camp
will be taught by graduate students and advanced undergraduate students in
the Theatre Arts department at the U of O, each with specialization in his
or her field. We will be teaching ages 8-18 in 5 different age-appropriate groups. It
will be more intensive for the highschool students and less so for the
elementary students, teaching participants acting
(auditioning, improvisation, styles, voice, etc), playwriting, and design,
so
students will get a good background in all areas. Those who are interested in getting more information or have questions can
contact me either by phone at 741-6894 (my home) or by email at
firinn@darkwing.uoregon.edu .Cost is $150 if registered by July 15th, and $175 for students after that
date and before August 12th.More information about the camp can be found at
http://www.geocities.com/renegadetheatreproject/WillametteArtTheatre.htmlThank you for your help in publicizing. :)
