Friends of Tugman – July 2025 Report

The Friends of Tugman (aka The Tuggers) typically meet every other Wednesday from 10:00 am – 12 noon somewhere in Tugman Park. Exact time and park location is dependent on weather conditions and current project(s).

  • We held two volunteer work events at Tugman Park in July:  7/9 & 7/23
  • July 9th highlights:  weeded around the caged oaks lining the Fawn Lily Rise pathway; pruned and dug blackberry vines along the south border of the central park section; picked up trash park-wide
  • July 23rd highlights:  chopped and dispersed large ash tree limb debris in the north end; pruned numerous willow limbs; weeded in the north end and central lawn tree rings; irrigated in the north end; repaired and replaced missing string boundary for the Wet Meadow Restoration plot; pruned and dug blackberry vines along the park’s south border; picked up trash park-wide
  • A subset of the Tugger team irrigated trees, shrubs, ferns, and forbs several times in July including the trees (planted Dec 2024) along and adjacent to Tugman Creek
  • An updated monitoring report of the Wet Meadow Restoration plot in the park’s north end (planted Nov 2024) was submitted on July 1st.
  • Our regularly scheduled bi-weekly Wednesday volunteer work events for August 2025 are:  8/6 & 8/20 (10:00 am – 12 noon).
