Ready Southeast Report for November 2024

Ready Southeast Report, November 2024

We had a good radio practice with more folks calling in this month. We stressed having your radio fully charged in case of emergencies and having it on the appropriate channel. We are continuing to promote the 2 Weeks Ready program to be prepared for any emergencies that arise. It is good to get prepared especially for a winter storm/ice storm and make sure you know proper operations if you have a generator.

We will be maintaining and doing our monthly radio practice and encourage all to add to this network. We cannot have enough volunteers to communicate when a disaster strikes. If you would like more information please fill in the contact form on the SEN website.

SEN Transportation Committee Report for September 2024

The Transportation Committee manned a table at the Sept 7 SEN annual picnic.
At the picnic, we had one person sign up as being interested in the committee. We also garnered 11 more signatures for the city-wide petition for safety measures (better crosswalks and flashing lights) at school crossings.
Charlie Loeb brought to our attention Walktober, a city-wide program/events to encourage walking.
We will discuss sponsoring a walk at the Oct 2 committee meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
Lucy Bambrey
Transportation Committee Chair
